Being invited back is the highest compliment you can pay a photographer. It says, “Not only did we love our photos, we loved them enough to not go anywhere else when we needed an update.” What an honour and a privilege!! I captured Iranian Ghazal and Norwegian Joachim and their beautiful children last winter, and they asked me back to again capture their family as their baby Iris is now a toddler and gosh, it was joyful! They are the most relaxed, lovely parents, and the kids are so fun and, well, I’m sure the photos will speak for themselves. *all the heart eyes*
When I arrived, Iris was still napping. I snuck and managed one frame before the kids joined us and woke her (it was not me, I swear!! haha!) and she was a little confused, bless. We piled onto the bed for lots of fun family shots in their gorgeous bedroom. Iris’s face is C L A S S I C as she’s her in super independent toddler phase, bless, as well as having just woken up.
Are those big kids hilarious or what? I L O V E them. On our way outside we stopped in the lounge room briefly and recreated a capture of Joachim and Ghazal with Iris from their session when she was just 3 months old!
But we soon headed outside for boules, bubbles, dancing, playing, and recreating a capture of the big kids too. A bit chaotically crazy, but always beautiful and fun, and – my favourite thing – oodles of authenticity! And that afternoon light! Be still, my heart.
