This divine family reminded me why I love capturing families, why I specialise in capturing families and don’t do anything else now. I’m pleased to specialise; I actively want to be known for one thing. I don’t really believe that you can be truly great at tonnes of things. I want to be really great at this one thing, and work at that, rather than spreading myself thin over multiple things. Therefore, and stay with me here, it’s important to choose the right photographer for your needs, ensure you love their work, and trust them. When you ask a photographer to do something different or work a different way, you immediately are unlikely to get their best. Flukes happen for sure, but honestly, everyone has a way of working that is honed and refined into into their own style.

Jeral and her family just put themselves in my hands and let me do my thing and I love LOVE this work and this fam! Their love and connection was honestly quite inspiring… So much to adore! Their sweet, shy little loves whose personalities shone through after they’d warmed up. Doting, connected parents. Fun with bubbles and the giant slide. Lots of cuddles and laughs. The perfect park session in Perth city on cloudy, grey afternoon. This work is a great example of what I love doing, of how I work, of who I am as a photographer, and inspired a new, more dramatic film-like edit from me. The only way it could have been better is if it was a home session 😉 Thank you Jeral and fam for being so willing and wonderful.
