I got a thing for motherhood.
Probably lucky since I homeschool my kids and am with them 95% of the time they’re awake 😉 (and half the time when they’re asleep too, haha!). Motherhood is special, and women are amazing, but often because we have to be. I think the patriarchal tides are turning, slowly but surely after hundreds of years, with plenty of setbacks along the way, as happens with all true progress. I see more and more women NOT doing it all, cultivating village that no longer naturally exists, and, importantly, insisting partners do their fair share of mental and physical load. Go us! I’ve blogged about motherhood before here.
Each year for Mother’s Day, I offer a super special Mama Mini session for playgroups and extended families to honour motherhood and encourage more mamas to get photos with their bebes. I was privileged to meet this seriously I N C R E D I B L E group of women and 2 very, very lucky toddlers a few weeks ago. Kristin from Before I Was Your Mum is a long time client of mine, and previously interviewed me for her blog series about working motherhood. You can read some of my waffle here if you’re interested (and I certainly do not blame you if you’re not, haha!)
I met with Kristin and her gorgeous son, her sister Megan with her beautiful daughter, and their FOUR amazing Grandma’s, Debbie, Kylie, Leng and Jacqui, at my fave fun group location, John Oldham Park in Perth city. The village they’ve created, the way they all interacted with each other and these darling little people (and the one Megan is growing!) was just such an honour to witness and capture. Thank you, ladies!

Mama Minis Fine Print:
- Offered late April and early May each year for Mother’s Day celebrations.
- Minimum of 5 mamas at $60 each is required to book.
- Mini mini sessions are 10 minutes each plus a group mama shot at the end.
- I allow an hour for 5 mamas, and add 10 minutes for each mama after that.
- Valid for a mama (or Grandma!) and 1-2 kids only. (10 minutes is just not long enough for more than 3 subjects!)
- Mama Minis are not ideal for newborns because if we get a fussy 10 minutes, we’re all out of luck!
- You’re welcome to have a mini with your kid/s and pay for your Mum or MIL to have one too! Happy Mother’s Day to them
- You will receive an online gallery to choose your 3 images from, and extra digitals can be purchased for $10 each.
- You’ll receive your online gallery about a week after your session, and final images 2-4 weeks after you place your order.
- Valid for end April and beginning May only. Weekends available and we might be able to make a weekday work too. I homeschool my kids so no promises there!
- Limited to 4 sessions only. Once they’re sold out, they’re sold out, sorry!
- The organiser receives one extra image free as a thank you for coordinating the crew and collecting payment
