I say it allllll the time: repeat clients are such a blessing! Not only did they love your work the first time but they loved it enough not to go elsewhere the next time! And there are plenty of great photogs around! Probably the biggest compliment you can pay a business is to go back. Anyhooooo, I first met the Howlett-Reid fam when baby Gideon was only 6 months old in July 2017. The most blue eyed, chubby cheeked, smiliest, delicious little ginger evveeerrrr. AND in a fox suit?! I was just gone, gone, gone. We had a lovely time at John Oldham park in Perth city, which is just quietly my fave go-to spot for all times of the year. I can always find some decent light there (except in high summer, you can’t make me). Here are my fave snaps from that sesh:
Fast forward nearly 18 months and Miranda gets in touch to say bebe #2 is baking… exciting! And a Christmas 2018 baby to boot. We organise a maternity Mini, and a newborn Maxi sesh, hooray! Miranda was super luscious at Mason Gardens in Nedlands in mid December and Gideon was on fire! And with 2 year olds, you really never know, haha. Handful of faves from that super quick sesh:
Bebe girl arrived on December 18th, 2018 and all went beautifully! We were booked for the 27th. Unfortunately I had the actual flu over Christmas and so we pushed back a couple days just to be on the safe side. We had a gorgeous home Maxi sesh in their little 1950s house, and took some portraits on the front stoop which are some of my faves ever! Poor little Giddy was not loving life that day, as with many young siblings at the new baby sesh. He was super overtired though and soon after we started, fell asleep on the couch! We left him and as a result Matt and Miranda got some beautiful portraits of themselves with their 12 day old little girl, who was later named Edwina!
We finished the session with Edwina on the crochet rainbow blanket her clever mama made. I just adore including items like that in sessions and it’s one of the many perks of home sessions. Isn’t she a treasure? And aren’t I so lucky to meet families and watch them grow and change over time?! Hashtag blessed!
